The Peninsula Harmony Chorus (PHC) is currently seeking a compensated director. We are a 20 year old a cappella chorus consisting of approximately 30 members who sing popular music from madrigals to the present day, focusing mainly on early and mid 20th
century music. PHC is an adult SATB chorus meeting in Los Altos on Monday evenings. Although not auditioned, we seek members who can hold their part in a choral setting.

The Musical Director reports to the PHC Executive Board and is responsible for making the musical quality of PHC as good as it can be, and is not responsible for non-musical administration of PHC. Responsibilities would include:
• Administer weekly PHC rehearsals
• Schedule and conduct sectionals as needed
• Direct PHC at certain performances
• Participate as a member of the Repertoire Committee
• Participate in meetings with one or more PHC Executive Board members
to develop plans and expectations
• Assist with the preparation and validation of the online practice music
data files
• Travel with the chorus as needed
• Adapt available scores into appropriate SATB format as needed.
• Provide vocal improvement teaching within the rehearsal structure
• Evaluate the chorus and seek methods for improving quality
• Provide inspiration and future vision
