To the Little Chickabiddies of rec.music.opera (all 3 of them), let's not forget that the opera ends with the Gretel and Hansel pushing the Drumpf like witch into the oven where she is burned to a crisp. And all the gingerbread children (I have a Dream
kids?) are freed from their cages and restored to life amidst general rejoicing.
Something similar is going to happen to this wretched country on January 20. Since a good joke only improves with retelling, I am going to repost the Walter Reed Drumpf Drive past.
Ive finally found the ideal opera scene to describe the Drumpf Drivepast at Walter Reed. It is from Englebert Humperdinck's delightful opera "Hansel und Gretel" which is usually given in the Christmas season. The German fairy tale is well known. There is
a very scary scene where the witch, who collects children to eat rides on her broomstick across the stage. This is usually done with wires. However this production is unusual in its choice of the witch.
The scene is known as Die Hexenritt (Witches Ride). Therefore Der Drumpfen Ritt (Trump Drivepast) = Die Hexenritt.
As an added bonus the witch is played by a man with an uncanny resemblance to you know who. Enjoy!
