• Yamaha U3 is too soft/mellow

I have owned a Yamaha U3 now for about 8 years now and have not been very impressed with the resonance and quality of tone. While the piano is not a bad instrument per se, I just don't find it as enjoyable to hear in my room as other pianos I have tried.

I previously had an Everett Studio piano which I really loved because it was warm and bright for my hymns and church music. However, it became very hard to service due to age and previous wear. My technician recommended I go shopping for a Yamaha U1
or U3. Against my better judgement, I turned down a Kawai US-60 for a Yamaha U3 which was $200.00 cheaper. I wish that I had bought the Kawai now because it had that 'Wow' sound to the acoustics.

Is there any way to make this U3 sound better without having to invest a fortune ? Am I better to just trade/sell and buy another piano ? Who out there is in NC with a Kawaii USx that I can try out?

    Thanks for your time,

    "Woody"
