Don't worry, I wasn't planning to drink valve oil, or breathe it, or even cook with it. My original question was pertaining to any possible harm
that could occur from accidentally inhaling small amounts during normal playing.
I also wonder if anybody has tried any non-toxic
alternatives to petroleum based valve oils.

I'm pretty sure that it will pass out the way of all things that go into
the digestive system.
