Does anyone here know for sure what 12 string guitars did Fred Neil play in his recordings and on stage? I see photos on line of one he is playing with a very long peg head that I don't recognize. Please post here if you know what he played, no
    guessing please.

Fred Neil played a "Miguel Companie", 12-string, and on the label it said,"Specialising in 12-string guitars". Fred's repairman in NYC, Marc Silber(now of Berkeley,CA), gave one to me as a gift, knowing how I loved Fred. I'm a luthier, and although I
glued the guitar back together, it was very lightly built, very fragile, and eventually imploded. It was an X-braced top with no bridge-plate, instead relying on a massive rosewood bridge to take the accumulated stress of the tension of 12 strings. I
saved the back. It was dreadnaught shaped, with 12 frets to the body on a mahogany neck with a wide nut. The top was spruce, and the body was Brazilian rosewood.....Al Milburn, luthier

He played a Miguel 12 string. One of Miguel's early
models, maybe #5. Bob Ingram in Miami I believe also had one.
Perhaps he will respond. They were fantastic instruments.
I owned #33 when I lived there. Wish I had never sold it,
but I did. It is the only guitar I ever wished I had back.
