    Paula Primrose,

Funny thing is...everytime I try to post my review of your Martin D-28 product to privately owned websites (retailers of Martin guitars) they
never post my review...maybe cause it's so negative? I'm going to
start a blog/website that describes all the short comings of Martin
guitars and how they are over priced due to using Amercian labor...NOT because they are actually quality products. We will poll visitors of
the website for their negative experiences with your products and
allow anyone to view these. I've a friend in NYC who's a web
programmer who's had the same success with your guitars (D-18) and we
are on the same page. He's a smart guy and we are going to spend much
time laying out the principles of guitar manufacturing...specifically
how Martin cannot make a better guitar than a Chinese worker at a
fraction of the cost. This is enough to make me want to become a
communist to be frank. Please keep an eye out for our website...I'll
be emailing you the link asap (saving your contact info as you read
this). Our site, name yet to be determined, will only list the short comings, to provide balast to the rosey reviews only permitted by
other sites, with regard to Martin guitars. My $300 Yamaha 720 sounds
better than any new D-28 I've seen and played...I'm convinced it is
actually a better guitar and cannot prove otherwise. My Guild GAD-50, Chinese built no less, blows the doors off my D-28...no comparison.
At a whopping cost of $630...and that includes tax!!! Thanks for
    your time, Stuart Jordan

    Good Morning,

Thank you for contacting Martin. No this is not typically of our instruments. It sounds like the guitar

could be dried out. You can take your guitar to a service center to
see what can be done and the cost.

If you have any other questions let me know. Thanks

    Best regards,

    Paula Primrose

Just bought a 2000 year model D28...used from original owner...this
was 12/11/08. Starting 12/29/08, approximately, the top's finish
starting cracking like a sheet of glass. Within 36 hours from that
time the back comes unglued to the sides and the back cracks in no
fewer than a dozen places. It's going to cost almost as much to fix
the guitar as what I paid for it (fix cracks, glue back together and
    refinish > $1k).

Is this typical of Martin guitar quality or ??? I've two chinese made guitars (Yamaha & Guild) that truely stand out compared to what I've
    seen thus far from Martin.

Anyone wants to help me salvage this guitar or am I the new owner of a
    very expensive paper weight?

    Stuart Jordan
