Days before the concert he caught a bullet that lodged in his arm. It sounds like it was politically motivated. I guess he decided not to cancel the concert. I guess that man decided to do something different than to meet violence with violence or to
    step back in fear...

"The hotter the battle, the sweeter Jah Victory."

Did you ever wonder what the scriptures meant when they said that David was dancing before the Lord with all his might?

If you're into and appreciate this kind of thing, check out also the speech given by Martin Luther King Jr. on the day before his death: April 3. It's a different kind of thing... different kind of man. There's no lightning but you can feel the fissure
open that's about to split history like a mighty bolt.

I'm sure some of you have seen documentaries on Bob where they show
the footage from the 1978 One Love Peace Concert in Jamaica where Bob
is able to get the two opposing political leaders, Edward Seaga from
the right and Michael Manley from the left, to shake hands on stage.
If you have not seen this, you absolutely must!!! Even though the
footage is not great, it is the most amazing
musical/spiritual/political thing I've ever seen on camera. During
"Jamming" Bob is in a total transcendental state, like you've never
seen him before, and this is what he say's (pay close attention to
    this part).

"To make everything come true, we've got to be together, yeah, yeah.
And to the spirit of the most high, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, run lightning, leading the people of the slaves to shake
hands. . . To show the people that you love them right, to show the
people that you gonna unite, show the people that you're over bright,
show the people that everything is all right."

A few seconds later he says,
"I just want to shake hands and show the people that we're gonna unite
    . . . we're gonna unite . . . we've got to unite"

Now here comes the most amazing thing I've ever seen. He then jumps
up in the air three times screaming what sounds like, "Get, get, get,
get" and then BBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! --- a bolt of
lightning which you can see perfectly strikes behind the drummer. It
had to have been extremely close because the thunder and the bolt were
at the exact same time. Words cannot do this justice. You just have to
see the state of mind that Bob is in (or is not in, maybe I should
say) and understand the political significance of what he did to get
Michael Manley and Edward Seaga to shake hands minutes later.

It sounds ridiculous to say, but what I am saying is that Bob willed a
bolt of lightning from the sky. Remember, he said, "Run lightning.
leading the people of the slaves to shake hands" and moments later a
bolt of lightning strikes, and Bob gets these opposing figures who
hate eachother on stage to shake hands. Nobody in all of Jamaica or
the world for that matter, thought these two leaders would shake
hands. If you think, I'm outta my gord, pleae refrain until you've
seen this-- it's unbelievable!! Plus, everyone should see a Bob
documentary at some point anyway, so it will give you an excuse to
    rent or buy one.

I read a book called "Black Elk Speaks". In it, a Lakota ( Great Plain Tribe) shaman tells his life story to a poet. He lived through the times when the Lakota were free, as well as times when they were on reservations and everything in between. When he
was 9, he fell into a twelve day coma where he had a vision that said all kinds of bad things were coming to his people and the human race in general, and thunder beings, which play a prominent role in Lakota religion, were prominent in the vision. For
the rest of his life, he could hear voices coming from thunder clouds and would say that there would be storms and other signs when he was doing the proper work. I think a parallel could be drawn to here, where Bob Marley is doing what some would call
God's work, or righteous work, or the Lakota would say he was making the thunder beings proud, which was why there was a thunder storm and why that bolt appeared at the crescendo of his trance where he asked for the unification of the tribal leaders.
