Greetings
I have a concertina for sale Serial number 10764 6 corner 6 31 buttons
by can any one give me some advice. My father bought it about 1942/3
What kind of advice?
Who made the concertina? With a serial number, it sounds like
one of the better ones. The most common ones were made by Lachenal or
by Wheatstone, though there were other makers, especially when your
father bought it.
With 31 buttons, it sounds like an Anglo system, not the English
system which I use. (That is, it will have a different note on press vs
draw for each button.) And at 31 buttons, it sounds more like an
extended Anglo, not the simplest flavor, which would be typically about
20 buttons.
I live in South Africa 40 ks from Durban. Half an hour from Durban My
home phone number is 031 916 3709
Too long a distance for a phone call, especially since I don't
know what your time zone happens to be. I'm in the EST (Eastern
Standard Time) in the United States.

Good Luck,
