    164 Exercises

This is my favorite daily routine. I’ve entered each one of the intervals, below, into the random.org app. Once a day I have the app mix them up,
then, one by one up to the 12th or 24th one on the list, I sing a melody
that uses the interval shown. Most of the time I sing the note names, so,
    for example, if the first one is Mi ➚ La, I’ll sing < c e a b c’ g > (c’
denotes the next higher octave from c) or just < c e a g > (all in the same octave.) Then I’ll sing the next melody in the key of G major or minor. If the next interval is “Sol ➚ Me” I’ll sing < g d’ bb’ a’ g’ d > (bb’ is B
flat.) Twelve exercises brings me full-circle around the circle of fifths. Sometimes I go around another time.

If I make a mistake, say, on the second interval on the list, I’ll sing
that melody around the circle of fifths. For example, using the example
    above, if I screw up < g d’ bb’ a’ g’ d > I’ll get it right in the key of G
Minor, then sing it in D minor, A Minor, E Minor, B Minor, etc., until I
sing it in G Minor again, then I’ll continue with the next interval on the list.

It’s good to play these on the guitar, too.

(I have another list that takes out the 2nds.)

In case you’re not familiar with the traditional nomenclature for pitch
names that I used in my examples, c’ is middle-c. The rest is exemplified with this three-octave G Major scale, starting on the G which is an octave
    plus a 4th below middle-c. G A B c d e f# g a b c’ d’ e’ f#’ g’ a’ b’ c” d”
    e” f#” g”

You can copy the list in my last post and copy it into a new list in the random.org app. So, in case you want a similar list, but minus the seconds,
    you can copy this.
