I finally got around to listening to Bruckner’s fifth symphony. I didn’t find it convincing. That is, I heard the grand crescendos and statements
but my emotions were not brought along. I think I understood it, but didn’t feel it.
I have the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, and 9th on CD, so I’ll try one of those
next.
