I'm now listening to the Laverne Squires CD A Ttibute
Limited Edition Collection of Folk Songs and Ballads from the Outports.

I wouldn't call it a tribute album, since Laverne is singing,
whereas a tribute album generally means others are covering
the songs. But this CD is dedicated to the memory of
    Laverne Squires and Noel DInn.

It contains 17 songs, recorded on January 17, 1969,
    and taken from the collections:

    1. The Peacock Collection: Songs of the Newfoundland Outports

    2. The Karpeles Collection: Folk Songs from Newfoundland

    3. Mansfield and Greenleaf's book: Ballads and Sea Songs of Newfoundland

    The track listing is:

    1. Early Spring
    2. Go And leave Me
    3. The Rosy Banks Of Green
    4. Brave Wolfe
    5. Johnny Dunlay
    6. Barbry Ellen
    7. The DArk Clothed Gypsy
    8. Who Is At My Window Weeping
    9. Riley The Fisherman
    10. The Bloody Gardener
    11. Bright Phoebe
    12. The Unquiet Grave
    13. The Foggy Dew
    14. Little Musgrave
    15. She's Like The Swallow
    16. The Ghostly Lover
    17. The Green Shores Of Fogo

Anyway, I highly recommend it, ancient songs sung
by the moody voice of Laverne, with sparse
    accompaniment.

I don't know if it is available for download from
iTunes or CD Baby or Bandcamp. But it can be
ordered from Fred's Records web site at
    http://www.fredsrecords.com/
or if you are in ST. John's, you can arrange
contactless pickup from them (details on the
web site). Also the CD says for further
    information contact proberts@nl.rogers.com
    or cornerboy51@hotmail.com and they should
    know of any download availability.
