I got curious... and for what it's worth, "scarlet emerald" used to Be A
Thing; there is a very rare blood-red variety of beryl. (Emerald is also
a beryl.)
According to Wikipedia, the terms "red emerald" and "scarlet emerald"
were forbidden in the US by the FTC... and its mineral name, bixbite, is officially deprecated because there was a pre-existing mineral bixbyite
(both are named after the same man, Maynard Bixby, to make it even more confusing).
Red beryl has been synthesized. I don't know if it's commecially available.
