I just got an email from my publisher so I went to look at a webpage and
there it was....My novel is for sale!

    VALHALLA: Absent Without Leave.
    by (Lee Gold)
    Kindle: $4.50
    Paperback: $19.50

Karen Anderson (the late Poul Anderson's wife) was my first reader on
this as I wrote the first draft. She liked it even though its treatment
of the Norse myths is (knowingly) heretical. And she gave me permission
to include bits of the filksong "The Childish Edda"
by Poul Anderson and Ron Ellik in one chapter.

The book reflects my wide knowledge of the Norse background (as shown in VIKINGS, the roleplaying sourcebook I wrote back in 1990 for ICE).

But the book isn't about the ancient Norse or the Vikings. It's about a
modern hero who arrived at Valhalla with her D&D magic D&D sword,
Frostbite. Robin Grima isn't content to train in Valhalla to fight and
die in Ragnarok. She wants to stop Ragnarok from happening! She
doesn't care about the prophecies. She wants to win!

Amazon lets you do a Read Within for the first page or so,
so you can at least see if you think the start is interesting.

    VALHALLA:  Absent Without Leave.
    by (Lee Gold)
    Kindle:  $4.50
    Paperback:  $19.50

I'm running into some ordering problems. I tried to select an Amazon
pickup location to save the shipping charges on the paperback (I don't
like Kindle), and it told me it couldn't ship to three different
    locations I selected.

My email from the publisher says that my book will be available through
    Amazon
    Apple
    Kobo
    Barnes and Noble

so if you can't arrange to get it from Amazon, try the other three.

    best wishes,
