• Milton Babbitt string quartets, new release + discography

    Here is a discography of the recordings of Milton Babbitt’s string quartets including a new recording of the complete quartets that was just released. At this point there have been two recordings of each of the quartets with the exception of the first:
    withdrawn by the composer, the first quartet (1948) has never been played or recorded. The first recordings of quartets 2-6 have all been released or reissued on CD. Here, as far as I’m aware, is a complete discography:
