This Wednesday, July 13, 9--11:30 p.m., at Folk Night at
The Ship Pub in St. John's, Newfoundland, the headliners
will be acoustic blues trio The Low Yo Stuff.
Cover is $5, there are door prizes, there is an open
mic set between the two headline sets, and open mic
performers get a free beer. Also the kitchen is open
until 8 p.m.
Here is the blurb from
https://www.facebook.com/nlfolk/events :
"The Low Yo Stuff are veteran purveyors of the down home acoustic blues and
ace musicians each and every one of them. Steve Hussey and Brad Power are two of the mightiest blues guitarists anywhere and Muddy would have had both in
his band if he had the chance. Dave Rowe is known as a bassist (for everyone) and mandolin player (for Crooked Stovepipe) but in this outfit he takes over the vocals, and lays down blues mandolin!"
Next week (July 20) there will be a traditional session hosted by fiddler
Finn Shea.
