• may i ask rmd a rather seemingly random question?

From roach@21:1/5 to All on Sun Sep 3 16:57:52 2023
when modern times came out, didn't somebody say something about the photograph something about iran?

like it was being shown there, or SOMETHING? anything about iran?

what am i thinking of? dc is my life, so...i can't find anything about what i have mentioned, so i am missing some relevant accurate info to clear it up.

    thanks?

    Well, in this thread: https://groups.google.com/g/rec.music.dylan/c/kVMxg8ufp20/m/Z0Qi-tpIRyEJ
there's a post by Just Walkin' that says:

"The photo is entitled, "Taxi, New York at Night," by Ted Croner and is
a very famous composition. Bob gave full credit to the Ted Croner
estate on Modern Times. I had earlier read a rumor on RMD that it was
on display at the Baghdad Art Museum but saw in MT a credit courtesy of
the Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York. If anyone out there knows the
true story, maybe they'll offer it up here, again..."

The Baghdad Art Museum isn't in Iran, but that's the closest I can find to a link between the Modern Times cover photo and Iran.

What happened to the posts containing these rumors you say you read on RMD? Were they deleted, and if so, do you know why? Was it some kind of joke, like people saying Rough and Rowdy Ways before it came out, that the new album was going to be titled
Days of Yore? Yeah, ha ha. Very funny. Hilarious. (that's sarcasm, i confess)

    Well, in this thread: https://groups.google.com/g/rec.music.dylan/c/kVMxg8ufp20/m/Z0Qi-tpIRyEJ
there's a post by Just Walkin' that says:

"The photo is entitled, "Taxi, New York at Night," by Ted Croner and is a very famous composition. Bob gave full credit to the Ted Croner
estate on Modern Times. I had earlier read a rumor on RMD that it was
on display at the Baghdad Art Museum but saw in MT a credit courtesy of the Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York. If anyone out there knows the true story, maybe they'll offer it up here, again..."

The Baghdad Art Museum isn't in Iran, but that's the closest I can find to a link between the Modern Times cover photo and Iran.
Nice find Willie! I remember posting that years ago.

Sorry if this post feels demanding, sorry, I didn't start out with some kind of polite pleasantry to set the tone...I thought we were all so familiar with each other (sort of), that it was sort of extraneous fluff...

but let's re-start this with, hi just. if you'll please allow! :-)
