I've mentioned Musicmaker.org here from time to time. They do great
work.....help them out if you can spare a few bucks.

    Hey JaKe,

Thanks for the reminder of that site. I wish there was a way i could make note of it for future reference. Maybe you can remind me down the road a ways.

Of course, as you know, i just can't help myself:

Many A Mile (written by Patrick Sky) - Buffy Sainte-Marie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSYYNRdteNg

Dave Van Ronk & Patrick Sky - Luang Prabang (Live 1973) [contains strong language]

Patrick Sky: Uilleann Pipe Maker - Spruce Pine, NC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7al1306eAFI

My favorite Pat Sky song, from his 1965 debut album:

There's also this very enjoyable live hour:

"Dave van Ronk and Patrick Sky perform at WBAI's Free Music Store with special guest Phil Ochs on April 21, 1973. The evening is introduced by WBAI's Steve Rathe. The three guitarists switch off performances throughout the evening. Songs
played on Part 1 of this recording include Frankie and Johnny, Casey Jones, Flower lady, [song by Patrick Sky about jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge], You ain't so such a much, Pretty smart on my part, Ramblin' hunchback, The legend of the dead soldier,
and Here's to the state of Richard Nixon. This recording was formerly cataloged as AZ1337A."

Thanks, I found "Songs That Made America Famous" which I'd never heard, or heard of, before:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Songs_That_Made_America_Famous

"Songs That Made America Famous is the fifth album by Patrick Sky, released on Adelphi Records in 1973. Sky recorded the album in 1971 but had difficulty finding a label to release it, as the satirical lyrics are explicit..."

    Price: One Dollar... amazing find.

    ;)

Sky's "Child Molesting Blues" seemed pretty out there then. But it's complete outdone for crossing the line (and predated) by this:

Sky was the model for one of the "Inside Llewyn Davis" characters, right? Wasn't there a folksinger living in an Army base in New Jersey that figured into the plot? Gotta watch that film again. It made me read Van Ronk's entertaining "Mayor of
MacDougal Street." Not until just now did I get the connection between the name of the Coen Brothers movie and Van Ronk's album "Inside Dave Van Ronk."

the army guy was tom paxton
I thought I might be wrong. That's partly why I mean to see the movie again. I did see that Sky was also in the army, but not where he was stationed.

    Ah, Paxton.

I'll need to jump back to that part of the film again, I've been slowly watching "Inside Llewyn Davis" for a couple of days now.

Is that Peter Orlovsky driving with John Goodman in the back seat?
