From Christopher Rollason@21:1/5 to All on Sat Nov 19 04:59:25 2022
I have reviewed Bob Dylan's new book THE PHILOSOPHY OF MODERN SONG, on my blog at:
    https://rollason.wordpress.com/2022/11/19/another-tale-to-tell-review-of-bob-dylan-the-philosophy-of-modern-song/

Yet another review, I realise, but I hope you will find it of interest!

Thanks, Chris, I haven't seen such savage pans of a Dylan work since, I suppose, his Christian era.

    Looking forward to your take.

thank you, Dr Rollason, for your review and, as ever, for remembering us here in the backwater of rec.music.dylan

i have not read the book, nor will i, absent a digital version made available by my public library; however, i am enjoying the public discourse about it

i particularly enjoyed a fair and balanced consideration of the book, without what seems to be required in writings about dylan in this century, the tendency toward "o, look at me i'm writing about bob dylan and it's on the internet" tonality of the
    authors

    take care,
    rdd

A good, fair-minded review, and I learned a new word (elucubration)!
I can't see or hear the name "Edgar Allan Poe" without "I Am The Walrus" playing in my head, though.

    Take care, DianeE

One thing I loved about Bob Dylan, when he was young and I was younger,
was the way he ruthlessly mocked anyone who took themselves too
    seriously. But now....oh well.
