Now I am forced to consider finishing the un-insulated walls and roof.

Some heat will certainly improve my willingness to venture out to the

The bank still has not turned off my card and Shirley is pouring, so
grab a drink while you can and celebrate a warm shop with me.

Hopefully you binned him ... I did . As far as R's go , get as many
as possible in the space you have but don't overdo it in the walls .
Putting 6" in a 4" space is just a waste but the more the better in the overhead .
We're geared up for winter here too , I have over 4 cords of firewood cut/split/stacked and covered , with several trees marked for harvest
that I haven't gotten to yet . I decided to take some time off firewood
duty to get some cleanup done and to play with my new toy . My wife just
sighed when I told her I wanted a plasma cutter ... I ended up with one
of the CUT50 variants with pilot arc for just over 2 bills and I love it
. My blacksmith/welder neighbor liked mine so much he had me order him
    one .
HolyShit , it's time for another round ! My turn this time ...

I'm shooting for another 4 cords before year's end . I'd like to be a
year ahead ... seasoned wood burns so much cleaner and heats better .
I've also changed the way I stack my wood , I'm leaving about 6" between
rows (5' tall and 10' long) now and it's drying much faster .
Streamlining my processing system has helped a lot too , battery powered winches and portable jib cranes have made me more productive and saved
my back a lot of pain . "Wood , the ultimate carbon-neutral renewable
    heat source."

My beloved hovel in SW Michigan, which is 15 miles from the big lake and 90 miles east of Chicago has seen one snowfall this season. One. That's not to say we're having unusually warm weather. It's been cold, but dry.

A new pellet stove in The Winchester is being enjoyed by our baby daughter. She escaped from California, and moved in with us. On the plus side, her fella got himself a nice job at a local distillery.

This leaves us with the firepit outside. In our attempt to be good citizens of the Mitten State, we make use of it as often as we want to.

That said, my murdercycle starts up, and the heated seats in my truck are nice.

    Hugs and kisses to everyone!
