    Hey Matt,

This thread is 16 years old, Dude! New decade. New thread. Unless you're talking about Synth vs Dino fluids.

I would have axed him iff'n he had lapped the hub onto the mainshaft.
AND or checked to make sure the hub had not rode up on the key...

But those tricks are more than 16 years old.

I can honestly say I've never seen a 4speed clutch come off the
mainshaft that was correctly installed and not abused. And that likely
is the reason for Rivera's attitude. It's not like an '87 4 bolt POS.

At least he bought drinks... surely I'll partake

hey i didnt bring the thread back up, someone else did.

the rivera rocks though once you get it right. tapered shafts and newbies not withstanding.

    matt
I still claim it needs a lockwasher though.

    New outfit has replaced Primo/Rivera.

What was the fundamental problem anyway? I toasted a stock Harley
clutch once from doing 20 yard dirt drags with my FLHT, and when I
opened it up I saw why. It was made to fail under hard use. Replaced
it with a Barnett racing clutch and never had another problem.
