• A round on the bar for the few remaining reprobates

Peeked in here tonight, and see some of y'all hangin' out.

Life is moving on, and we can't visit IRL like we used to. I'm trying out this Google newsgroup sh*t, cuz it's easier than figuring out an NNTP server on Thunderbird.

But maybe TBird may be better. At least then I can filter out people.

    I've gotten lazy in my mid-age... :-)

Thought I'd check back in to see what's happening here. It's not even
doing as well as alt.comp.freeware (where I hang out a lot.)

I haven't even bothered to put my battery back in my bike this year. Go
on long walks around town to keep in shape, but carry a mask around
under my ballcap just in case somebody's coming up the sidewalk from the
    other direction.

Used to be a great run over by Coos Bay every year, but of course that
    didn't happen this year.

My riding partner and I used to do a day ride that was awful nice:

From the Rogue Valley down to Montague, CA...
    From Montague to Grenada...
    From Grenada to Gazelle...
From Gazelle to Callahan on the "Gazelle Callahan Road"...
From Callahan to Fort Jones on the "East Callahan Road" (on the east
side of the Scott River), a real nice ride through farmland...
From Fort Jones to Yreka on Hwy 3...
From Yreka to Hwy 96 on Hwy 263 (an incredibly scenic ride)...
Followed 96 onto I-5 and then back on home over the Siskiyou Pass (a
very dangerous, but wild ride down into the Valley.)

    Hope you're doing well, Snag.

Forgot to add: A round for everybody left. Make mine a bitters and soda

We don't have any rain to spare here in Bridgetown (home of the riots),
We have spare wind today and yesterday.
Brought the team transpo back from Boise yesterday, towing a two story
garage behind a 38' Monaco coach through the gorge was a wild ride!
1/2 mile visibility for dust starting around ontario then smoke all the
way into protland. We could barely make out the windmills in arlington.
Alan was getting cramps yanking on the wheel in that wind! Not much
chance of falling asleep in that crap!

The trip was not without incident, we spent a few panic'd moments
arguing with the wind, whether our awning was going to remain attached
to the coach. Luckily we managed to get it rolled up with no damage!

I was kinda dry after that, thanks for the drink.

Chuck advised me one time that the moment that you wonder whether you ought to take an awning (or in his case, a sail) down due to wind is the right time to do it.

I haven't been riding, either. I've been watching a cataract develop, and it's gotten to the point where I don't even like to drive a car. That will be remedied over the next 3 weeks, though. :-)

Now that the smoke is gone...

I'm off for another weekend at the track.

We'll see if the awning survived!

Have a round on me while I play race cars.
