I agree that the odds of any decal that has been removed will be useable again are pretty long. Plus new ones are brighter, nicer, and can be had now at a good price!!!

I remove the original roundels on my '60's Scalextric cars for cleaning and polishing the body shells, I re-use them as the new ones don't match the font from that period. Strip everything out the car, soak the body in warm water for half an hour, using
the back of your thumbnail gently push up (do not pick) the decal until it is completely removed. Thin double sided tape can be used to re-apply the decal.
