• Gilbert AF S-Scale Knuckle Coupler

    From J.B. Wood@21:1/5 to All on Tue Mar 28 08:01:49 2017
Hello, all. The spring-loaded plastic part on the subject recently
broke off rendering the coupler non-functional. The coupler and bogie
appear to be a single unit that is riveted to the bottom of the car.
Does anyone know if the coupler can be easily repaired or replaced?
Thanks for your time and comment. Sincerely,

Repair is always possible, but IMO not worth the hassle. Search on
"American Flyer replacement trucks and couplers".

Plenty of hits, including one from Kadee offering a conversion kit,
which may be the best long-term solution. To spread the cost, put a
Kadee coupler at one end of a car, then place that between converted and unconverted cars. The one with the broken couple may be a good candidate
    for that....

    Good luck,
