I was involved with the group when I was about 15 years old, Shortly after Sputnik 1. I had built a solid fuel zinc sulphur rocket five feet in length. We met at Northrup Institute of Technology in Inglewood, CA, and laughed in the Mojave Dessert. At
that time, one of the older guys, maybe 20 or so was building a LOX/Thiokol rocket that was designed to get above the atmosphere, while mine was designed to go only about 1 mile or so.
