    I'm not sure where the black belt claim for James Cagney comes from. He didn't claim to have one from anything I've read by or about him
    (Including his biography "James Cagney" by Doug Warren).

    Cagney was however a perfectionist and an athletic actor, doing his own stunts. He was trained for the role of Nick Condon by Ken Kuniyuki a
    fifth degree black belt in Judo and by Jack Halloran an ex-policeman.
