New surveillance footage published online Thursday shows tech executive
Bob Lee stumbling on the sidewalk outside a San Francisco apartment
building early Tuesday, apparently looking for help after suffering stab wounds.

The footage, which was obtained by the Daily Mail, appears to be from the
video cameras at the Portside apartment building and shows a staggering
Lee falling in front of the building, which is located at 403 Main St.

Police found Lee unconscious on the sidewalk around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday,
about six minutes after he called 911 seeking help, saying he had been
stabbed and was bleeding out, The Standard reported Wednesday. He was
taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died.

Police have released few details about the fatal stabbing and have not
publicly identified a suspect or motive. The new footage fills in more
blanks about what happened to Lee.

The Standard, which reviewed different surveillance camera footage than
that obtained by The Daily Mail, previously reported that Lee walked up to
a car at Harrison and Main streets and showed the driver he had been
stabbed, perhaps to seek help.

In the new footage, Lee appears to lean on the hood of a passing car,
which slows down before driving away. He then walks to an entrance of the Portside, looks inside the window and falls to the ground.

He appears to use his phone before getting up and walking away.

It is unclear whether the video obtained by The Daily Mail was recorded
before, after or simultaneously as the surveillance footage reviewed by
The Standard.

The Standard first reported that Lee, the chief product officer for
MobileCoin and a former Square executive, called 911 himself at 2:34 a.m.
to report the stabbing. He screamed “help” repeatedly and told the
dispatcher that someone stabbed him and that he was bleeding out,
according to records.

In police scanner audio posted online, a dispatcher can be heard relaying information about the stabbing to officers.

“There’s a male screaming ‘help,’ saying, 'someone stabbed me,'” the
dispatcher says, according to the audio published to an open-source
platform. “Advised he is bleeding out.”

Police on Thursday declined to release any new details about the
investigation into the stabbing, instead posting a video on social media
of a spokesperson expressing condolences for Lee's family.

"There is no place for this kind of violent crime against anyone in our
city," said Sgt. Adam Lobsinger. "We want to assure everyone that our investigators are working tirelessly to make an arrest and bring justice
to Mr. Lee and his loved ones, just as we try to do in every homicide that occurs in our city."
