• Gun school where students stand next to targets being shot at..?

From Peter Franks@21:1/5 to All on Wed Dec 5 18:15:18 2018
I heard a while back, can't remember where, and now I'm trying to
    determine its factual status.

The story was, as near as I can remember:

There was a gun training school that would have students stand next to a
target while someone (a student or an instructor?) shot at the target.
The training 'justification' was that it shows students what it is like
to be shot at (but not hit).

Seems pretty far fetched to me, but who knows...

Anyone ever heard anything like that? Have a substantive reference
    either way?

    Thx

I have never heard of any civilian school or other institution doing
anything like that. Here (Germany) it would be seriously illegal to
offer such a course except for military and police students.

I have heard that our special forces do something like that as part
of their firearms training. Both to get accustomed to being shot at
as well as a team trust building exercise.

The source of that information is from public media: Our current
secretary of defence wanted some senior officers disciplined when
she learned about such things happening, until somebody told her
that it was a standard part of special forces training.
Unfortunately, I can't find that report anymore.

Thx for replies. What I heard was US domestic civilian.

Some more searching turned up this:

Videos are gone, but description is somewhat similar to what I remember.

Anyway, was just trying to see if anyone else had heard of this story
    (or stories like it).

Might have had spyware attached to the video.
    Stranger things have happened.
