• Scallion, only cheaper!

From T@21:1/5 to All on Mon Aug 28 17:02:27 2023
    Hi All,

I became time for me to cull my white onions
to make room for their bulbs. I have a big
bag of them in my refrigerator and cook with
them a lot. They are down right yummy! Can't
tell them apart from scallions (except for
the white bottoms). And way, way cheaper!

    :-)

Never saw the cooking need for scallions.
Just chop up an onion. But that may just
    be me.

it's a color and presentation thing for
some people. i like them sprinkled on top
of soups, but i don't want them cooked in
the soup. other uses for green onions
abound. i like them anyplace regular
onions can be used. just cooked enough to
heat them through a bit bit not turned to
    mush.

almost any form of onions i like cooked,
    partially cooked or raw.

That would be really yummy in chicken stock!

I L-O-V-E them raw in salads!
    I add to macaroni salad.
Mac, mayo, cucumber, snipped green scallions, salt and pepper.
    Easy and summer cool.
