• Dry Farmed Tomato?

    Hi All,

What in the world is a "Dry Farmed Tomato"?

And how do they avoid "blossom rot" from the
    lack of water?

    Perplexed,

no irrigation. that is, all moisture is coming
from rainfall and is being managed to preserve it
and use it during the growing season. read up on
dry farmed wheat growing as an example of the
techniques they use which may help for tomatoes.
if you have enough mulch or covers to hold in the
soil moisture long enough then you can get a crop.

the right varieties and hoping for rain in the
right amounts at the right time.
