• Need NFL Blitz repair advice

From Steve Doubleday@21:1/5 to All on Tue Apr 7 13:05:11 2020
I purchased an NFL Blitz arcade game a few weeks ago. It had a loud buzzing sound to it. It worked for a couple weeks and then died. Now the monitor just says No Signal Input and the buzzing went away. I am not a video game guy, but can use a
multimeter. Any ideas where to start checking?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Game power supply is the obvious starting point. The game board requires
+5 and +12VDC at a minimum so that is where we always start.

I have no idea what sort of supply is in your game without referring to
my documents (and I am busy!), but you should have the owners manual and service schematics/wiring diagrams and they should give you a pretty
good idea where the power supply is and the required voltages.

Ok; I think my power supply is bad as there are no LED lights on the game board. How can I safely test the power supply? Thanks.

You need some sort of voltmeter. I am sure there are some instruction
videos on youtube about basic voltmeter use for the beginner.

Then identify the power supply in your game and see what the output
voltages are. Take care as there are line voltages (120/240 depending on
where on the planet you are) present so look into safe electrical
    readings on these videos.

If you can't find any instructional videos on how to measure the voltage
of typical game power supplies get back to us here and perhaps, if I
have time, I can make one and post it.
