...I just acquired an Asteroids that looks to be "all original" (no
major repairs done; everything looks very old!) and it plays, sounds
good. The graphics on the monitor are nice and bright; the asteroids
look good, and I adjusted brightness (the grey dial on the white
board) and contrast (the green dial on the white board) to where
things look as they should. Except that the picture is a little too
big - the score cuts roughly in half at the top, and "1979 Atari Inc"
    cuts off at the bottom.

    I read about X + Y adjustments elsewhere, but I can't seem to find
them on my monitor or monitor board.

    1. Do you think an XY adjustement might help? Or is it more likely
    another issue?
    2. Given the age of the monitor, and the fact that the thing is
playable, should I adjust anything at all, or just leave well enough
    alone? What would you do?

Any input is, as always, greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi guys. Could anybody tell me how to adjust the brightness on my Asteroids arcade upright please? I've got the dots in every objects w/ the tracking lines going on. Thanks!

Brightness potentiometer is on the monitor motherboard. For some
monitors you also have a contrast control. You need to identify the
brand (Electrohome vs Wells Gardner) of XY monitor you have then
download the manual which shows the actual location of the pot(s).
