Picked up a keeper a few weeks ago, a Journey by midway. Fixed all the
sound issues, replaced all the roms & rams (& sockets), & have the
game running great with all sounds present. I have 2 problems:

I can see the guys heads in all the screens fine, but theres weird
small lines running through there heads, the cartoon bodies are fine,
    im stumped.

The tape player works & the tape is good too, but it does not power up
when I end all the levels & they play the concert... It DID when I
    first got it running...strange..

ANY help you can offer me is greatly appreciated as I have been
cursing this game for over 2 months now =[

Did you burn new roms chips with the original rom files? Have you swapped the old rom chips back in the pcb? The lines could be caused by a corrupt rom file.

Perhaps put a photo up and provide a link? The pattern of the lines (if
there is a pattern) may tell us something. Otherwise try tweaking the
power supply voltages a bit if adjustable. Old RAM can be fussy about
    the voltage they prefer.

PS, the original post was 2002, chances are the person has moved on to
    other games by now.
