    I only occasionally check the web forum, but I notice now that
    many of the boards have disappeared from the homepage, and when
    I try to visit the ones that remain I get told that:
    "You do not have permission to access this board."

    Have the forums gone members-only, or is there a technical
    problem?

    Some few weeks ago a user went mad and kept on posting even though he was banned. As a consequence guest reading and writing is no longer allowed. But the board and its members are still alive and kicking. Register and you'll see, Kev.

    OK. Banning unregistered reading seems a bit extreme,
    but I guess I don't know the full situation.

    I didn't want to do it either, but like hcm said, the guy kept on posting as a guest.

    Once his ban expired I have since opened the majority of the forums up to guest viewing/posting again (off-topic stuff is still only open to members though, as usual).
