A week or so ago Bogiesan mentioned a book with a photograph from 'The go master' a play by Kawabata and asked for info.

Kawabata's 'Master of go' is adapted for theatre in France by Philippe Faure under the title 'Le maītre de go' and has been played on november 5 1990 in the 'Théātre des Célestins' in Lyon, France.

The role of the master was played by the famous actor Michel Bouquet (who also
played in films by Boisset, Chabrol and Franēois Truffaut).

I found this information in the french theatre magazine 'L'avant-scčne théātre', No. 882, 15 jan. 1991. In this magazine you'll find the text of the
two-act play and quite a lot of photgraphs, including a colour photograph on the cover. Some of them fit the description given by Bogiesan.
