Im adding this to my BBS's, but I dont understand how players find the first player number they can use. Sure they can try each one till thy find one with the default password still set, but when you have 30+ countries that could be very frustrating. Is there a way I can output the country command output to a file, where I can parse it and put it up on a website? where they can see it before entering the game?
Thanks!
Marisa

not exactly that, however here's a simple way to dump countries still in sanctuary:
% echo sanc | nc -N blitz.wolfpackempire.com 5678
2 Empire server ready
When I put the "-N" option I get a error about invalid option "N". If I leave the option N off I get "b Command sanc not found"
Any suggestions?

I also tried the "list" command and got the same "not found" message. "players"
too. Is there somewhere I say what commands are allowed before loggin in?

yes, in the aformentioned client-howto[1] under "Login phase".

interesting. This is supposed to close the connection once EOF is
received on the input. Ancient netcat installation?
No idea. The "sanc" command in the login phase has been around at least since the import of 4.2.12 into git, some sixteen years ago.
Which version of Empire are you using?
