• MOTD support?

From Marisag@21:1/5 to All on Wed Nov 28 06:00:34 2018
Is there a way to display the "message of the day" when someone connects? Would like to show a banner and post news they should see at the time they log in...

I think the file "motd" in the game state directory should help there.

Ok I tried that in every directory under my intstallation i could think of, but it never displayed any file. I tried restarting the server process after each change as well. Any ideas?

looks like it needs to be in telegram format. I ended up writing a
telegram and copying the result out of the "tel" folder into motd.

Aha! There's a deity command to set the motd.

    [0:640] Command : turn motd
Enter a new message of the day.
    Enter telegram for The World
undo last line with ~u, print with ~p, abort with ~q, end with .
