In case there are people left who, like me, read rgcde more
often than the web forums, James F. Flynn has died at 66. To
quote Lee :
He suffered two strokes, the last of which occurred around 6.5
years ago, and his health went steadily downhill. For the last
six years, he had been living in a nursing home.
Jim and I corresponded a fair bit over the years, first during
the Boom project and later independently of TeamTNT. The last
time we had spoken was in 2007, not too long after his first
stroke. More recently, the lack of news and the disappearance of
his home page got me worried.
Jim was smart, wise, inventive and likeable. I have great esteem
for the person he was and am very sad to see him go. The past
few years must have been hard not just for Jim but also for
Nancy, who took care of him.
