Which is why I quit going. I'm not going to bid against the owners of the games ,

That said, Those BBs were not my cousins games or he would have dumped them at those prices

So the sellers total cost on a buy back is $15 registration fee and $25

Thank you for finding/posting that. It hadn't occurred to me that there
would be a maximum commission. So even if they followed the rules a
$6700 buyback would only cost them $115.

I do have some updates.  I didn't indicate which are buy backs >>>>>>>>> (BB) so I
edited the list above to include it.

There was also a Comet (I think) not setup on a pallet that
could not be
easily inspected.  $250.

Just curious. How much do those buy-backs cost?

Which is why I quit going. I'm not going to bid against the
owners of the games ,

That said, Those BBs were not my cousins games or he would have
dumped them at those prices

That would change the whole auction.  I was trying to calculate
what sellers thought the game must be worth if they were willing
to pay 10-15% plus haul the game to another sale.

Auction Game Sales held an arcade, vending and pinball auction at
the Convention Center at Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor,
Pennsylvania.

"Bidders were allowed to bid on their own games and buy them back
for a $25 fee...."

So the sellers total cost on a buy back is $15 registration fee and
$25 for the buy back.

And from another source....

"It is $15 per item to register. Buy backs are $10 per item so it
costs $25 to run it through."

I suspect this one is accurate.  The $25 comment on the previous one
must include the registration fee.

WOW!   Thanks for that information.  I understand now why there are
so many "BuyBacks" (just a generous term for a reserve price).

I hope that information is made clear to all the bidders.

I have never heard it mentioned, but I have never been there at the
beginning of the auction. Perhaps the rules are spelled out then?

WHAT ARE THE FEES CHARGED BY THE AUCTION COMPANY TO SELL AN ITEM?

There is a $15 per item registration fee to enter the item into the
auction. There is also a commission charged once the item is sold.
This commission works on a sliding scale. The Commission is 10% with a
minimum charge of $10 per item and a maximum charge of $100 per item.

Thank you for finding/posting that.  It hadn't occurred to me that there would be a maximum commission.  So even if they followed the rules a
$6700 buyback would only cost them $115.

From what I am told, that buyback only costs the seller $10 (total $25 including registration) regardless of the buyback price.

I think that the higher commission only occurs on a true transaction / sale.

But I do not know that for certain.

Buyers get hit, too. The NC sales tax plus the local tax in W-S is 7%.

The easiest way to pay is with credit card. I believe that adds 5% to
the price. So the buyer pays an extra 12% to get out the door.

I paid with cash once. They took it, but were not too happy.

Businesses avoid the sales tax.
