• Tech Help: Shadow Battlefield kicker motor

From BillWilli9@aol.com@21:1/5 to All on Sat Jul 29 22:10:45 2023
When start up the game kicker coil slides to the left no problem
but when it try's to go to the right to complete the reset it stutters
    and does not move.
I can move the kicker from side to side with my hand, no binding replaced the gear and the metal bracket that holds the teeth in/ (teeth in good shape)

    any ideas

I am not familiar with the motor used in this game - is it AC or DC?

If DC and it doesn't like going in reverse, that usually means the
brushes are pretty much worn out...so check them first.

If and AC motor (single winding) then check for something binding on the
return cycle. It looks like you have done that already but look for
things that may shift when the motor is going one way vs. the other -
perhaps it shifts enough to get
in the way of smooth motor action?

IT looks like it can be an opto issue.
reflowed a connection to one of the optos and it stutters to the right now
