• [slashem] R.I.P. by trapdoor

From Janis Papanagnou@21:1/5 to All on Wed Feb 23 17:25:16 2022
This Chaotic Doppelganger Barbarian (Slashem) game had no easy start,
needed 3 (or 4) prayers in the course of early game. A couple shops,
the Mall level was a bones level, and finally reached the Oracle at
a quite deep level 9. Found just recently the (cursed) Grayswandir
in a shop (dlvl: ~6), my pet didn't pick it up, so I emptied my sack
(that I obtained from the bones heap) to deposit the artifact in it.
Alas, it was also cursed. So I dragged a large box into the shop and
luckily my dog was large enough to pick up the box with the therein
contained Grayswandir; I suffered but (with HP:85) didn't die from
its blasts and stashed away the artifact. At dlvl:10 I searched for
the Sokoban entry. Stumbled onto a trapdoor and fell immediately
into the throne room of the Kobold King. "Elbereth" was successful,
the kobolds fled. - "DYWYPI?" - ...killed by a bolt of fire. Sigh.

Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed. No E word, and he might not
have had a line to zap you... (But a wand of fire with no reflection and
no fire resistance is pretty much a death sentence.)
