• On spiked chains...

When 3.5 was released I fell in love with the sketch style illustrations of the mundane equipment. I just love that style of illustration. But when I saw the illustration for the spiked chain I laughed out loud. It was absurd. As depicted, utterly
unusable. The description and mechanics were no better. I flexible piercing weapon? Which technically made it usable underwater? Madness. Yes, I am getting pedantic. But we all how our particular hobby horses. I was willing to ignore the Mjolnir style
warhammer but not the spiked chain. But... I love chain weapons, always have since I first saw one and than did a bit of real world research. And the idea of a chain weapon that has spikes is pretty damn cool. So... I made one. It would be incredibly
dangerous to use. But it screams Demon weapon. So I'd like to introduce my version of a spiked chain, the Demon Chain: https://www.deviantart.com/ironstaff/art/Spiked-Chain-3-865188217

    Thank you for your time.

Welcome. I didn't know it by that name but I am familiar with flexible blade swords. My issue is blade alignment. Without good edge alignment, you won't get decent cuts.
