Bad Genius is a new movie I watched as an in-flight movie on the way to the Philippines for a chess tournament. The plot is Lynn is a genius level high school student who makes top scores on all the standardized tests, but her father is a poor school
teacher who does not have enough money to pay her tuition for a prestigious school she wants to attend. So, she finds she can make money by giving the answers to her fellow students of the test questions. Since the answers are either A, B, C or D, she
can just memorize the entire sequence. She is a piano player so she teaches her fellow students the finger formations used to play the notes A B C and D on the piano. So the students sitting near to her just receive her signals with the answers to the
questions. Now, they want to attend Boston University in America. They are willing to pay millions of baht so they can get high test scores and pass the entrance exam to that university. They fly her to Australia where she will memorize the entire test
questions and send them by cell phone to her co-conspirators in Thailand. All this is similar to the real methods chess players have used to cheat and win big money at chess tournaments where computers can now easily defeat the world's top grandmasters,
so the chess cheaters have used similar methods to receive the chess moves from their computers.
