During the Watergate Affair involving President Nixon, all the Republican Congressmen who stood by the President got wiped out and lost their seats, including those like Congressman Sandman who became so infamous from his defense of Nixon that he had to
leave politics and never ran again. Now the congressmen are facing the same situation. Do they remove Trump now, as they have the power to do, and incur the wrath of the many Republicans who still support Trump, and rebuilt the respect of the electorate
until the next election, or do they stick with the president now and face the prospect that they will go down with the ship never be able hold elective office again?
