I hit and made my 4pt, thinking that I had to try to win going
forwards, but XG prefers hitting twice, which is more of a "two-way
game" play. Depending on the dice, X can try to keep hitting O,
or try to escape. If the result is that O sends back a lot of X's
checkers, then X can fall back on a backgame plan. It probably
won't be a good backgame, but it will be better than if he has
only four checkers back and a crunched board.
