I am following the threads of interest to me and I will post
some replies later but to take a break away from endlessly
useless dicussions of a non-existent "cube skill" fantasy,
here is a product of a different side of me that you may find
interestting, even though it's not about "gamble-gammon":

    https://www.montanaonline.net/chimneys/index.html

Have any of you seen similar chimneys anywhere in the
country/world? Can you share info or links? Enjoy anyway...

Here, not the exact style you're looking for, but still worth sharing:

I like it :) but how did you come across this? Do you play with legos?

Regardless, I did appreciate your time and interest in chimneys... ;)

Just googled it, to make a bit of fun of your (to me) unusual interest.

Regardless, I did appreciate your time and interest in chimneys... ;)

I did enter your link and read all of it. It never occurred to me that a chimney could so definitely set the 'character' of a home.

Made me recall the sci-fi novel 'City', by Clifford Simak. There an ancient family home (high roofs, big chimney, rural surroundings) plays a big role throughout the developments. Loved that book.

It's not an ongoing but just an occasional interest that
    just happened.

Not just the character of a home, but the character
of a town/area/country if there are enough of them
    concentrated there.

In Europe, for example, there are interesting local
"chimney cultures" but they are almost all above
the roof type and thus rather small and hard to
    notice high up.

Anyway, it's fun to find some variety in interests
in life... Even if at the expense of backgammon ;)
