• 4pt vs 7pt 10a

From ah....Clem@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jul 11 16:42:54 2023
I don't want to interfere with Tim's numbering system, so this is 10a.

This came up today in a match and I tried out my tentative rule of thumb
    for these positions, which is:

Make the bar point if priming is the likely strategy, make the four
point if attacking or hitting is the likely strategy. And if you're not
sure, just make the four point since it's the smart way to bet.

But did I get it right?

    X to play 22

Normally 22 is a good roll in the early game, but it's not as good here
as it usually is, because X is forced to create a somewhat ugly stack
on his 23pt. 6/4(2) is nearly automatic this early in the game; I don't
think that 13/7 has enough merit to override the "default" play. After
    6/4(2), I'd play 7/5, duplicating O's 3's to hit and cover.
