• O has 8 checkers borne off

From Timothy Chow@21:1/5 to All on Wed May 3 08:40:41 2023
I'm not sure why XG doesn't draw the borne-off checkers. Sometimes
I add them by hand, but I'm feeling lazy today. Oh, and X has
    2 checkers borne off already.

I was rather surprised that XG thought that keeping a five-point board
was so much better than ripping off an extra two checkers. I'm not sure
I have any good techniques for making this type of decision in general.

It's two extra checkers off immediately but overall not only does it leave a lot more shots immediately, it's such a slow bearoff that those 'extra two checkers off' come back to not being cumulatively more.
