    Seems like there are two main options: attack with 11/1*(2),
    or make the 3pt with 13/3 8/3 14/9. (There's also the loose
    hit 13/3 8/3 6/1* but that doesn't look best to me.) I would
    go ahead and attack since the quiet play also leaves quite a
    few shots. Ten checkers in the zone is enough to try for a
    blitz.

    I feel like if you set the two plays up OtB and got an actual visual of what the position looked like after each play you might not be so inclined to try the blitzing play.

    It looks like the non-hitting play gets more wins by preserving the priming game as an option and not committing to a blitzing game.
    In a variant where X is under just a little pressure, the blitz proves more valuable. It increases X's gammons and reduces O's gammons compared to the non-hitting move.
