More offers to pimp up the old junkers but not for anyhing more
A message was just posted to bug-gnubg group
by yet another person offering volunteer help to
improve Gnubg which included lines like these:
"There are now much more software developers on
"this planet than 15, 20 years ago and interest in AI
"is very high. I think it’s possible to find new people.
It would be not only possible but very easy to find
new people. In fact, new people come knocking at
Gnubg's door themselves but the door is closed. :(
Also, the question is "new people to do what"..? To
keep pimping up the old junker?
What is harder to find is "new ideas"! But the door
is not only closed but also locked against any real
innovation anyway... :(
"If you want to play around with inputs and evaluation,
"develop a bot or another GUI it would be very helpful
"to have a core gnubg library without application code.
This seems to offer some hope in addition to help
towards developing at least "mutants" more easily
even if nothing towards developing any bots based
on novel philosophies/theories.
"For example a simple C or Python function with match
"and position as input and equities as output.
Again, this would at least facilitate experiments to
show that "equities" as currently calculated, along
with everything else calculated based on them, are
at best inaccurate of an unknown magnitute and at
worst totally bogus.

And here is a perfect depiction of current Gnubg:

In the front door is Philippe, saying "Sorry Murat, we
have no room to add any more features to Gnubg". :(
In the back door is Øystein, saying "Sorry guys, there
is no room inside for new vounteers". :(
While at it, here is a good depiction of defunct XG:

A very fast gas guzzler for very cheap. So all those
silver dollars must be aluminium counterfeits...??
Several years ago there were rumors that airhorns
would be added behind the longhorn on the hood. :)
Does anyone recognise the dude standing on it..? ;)
