  • [Question] card requirement and action to put in play

    Hello,

    For me the answer is NO due to card requirement, but :
    if a vampire can play the card "Summon History", can put in play a card from which he don't have the requirement ?

    The question is nearly link to the different between "play the card" and "put the card in play"

    card description for the example:

    Summon History, Action, X blood, Temporis, R , [HttB:R, Anthology:3]
    [tem] Search your library (shuffle afterward) and/or ash heap for an ally, retainer or equipment whose cost is X or less and put that card in play, on this vampire and with life equal to its starting life if applicable.
    [TEM] Search your crypt (shuffle afterward) and/or ash heap for a non-scarce vampire with capacity X or less and put that vampire in play (with no blood).

    Charnas the Imp, Retainer, 1 blood, Tremere, R , [Jyhad:R, VTES:R, CE:R, KoT:R] Unique demon with 1 life. Put Charnas on any minion (this is a +1 stealth (D) action if that minion is controlled by another Methuselah). Charnas inflicts 1 damage on the employer during his or her unlock phase. Charnas is immune to damage from the
    employer. If the employer is burned, his or her controller can put Charnas on any minion.

    You're probably going to have a better time finding people on http://www.vekn.net/ or the
    various facebook groups.

    But to answer your question, the answer is Yes.
    One of the things Summon History allows you to do is ignore requirements, because it says
    "put in play" and not "equip/recruit/employ".

    But also, I wouldn't use Summon History with Charnas, because Summon History would force
    you to put him on the acting minion instead of the intended use. Summon History would not
    allow you to use the D-action option.

    Lol. Blast from the past forum.

    The added benefit is also that allies that have been "put in to play" are not recruited and therefor can do actions the turn they were put in play.
